Tweet is a hat that looks like a bird. It’s a variation on Twitter, my other bird hat. The basis of these hats is the same. Both hats have a ‘beak’ formed by a double brim. Both have wing-like earflaps worked in short row wedges.
One difference is that Tweet is worked in allover garter stitch. The bigger difference is that Tweet has no felt eyes, but separately knit eyes. These are placed in eye sockets (buttonholes).

PATTERN NOTES
This hat is knitted from backside up. Back and earflaps are knitted together on straight needles. Earflaps are shaped by knitting sort row wedges. Body and crown are knitted in the round in garter stitch.
Pattern includes tip for jogless join.

You can knit the hat in any color combination you like. What about a Love Bird or a Bird of Paradise?
