This sweater was designed out of necessity, I wanted a sweatshirt to take away on a summer holiday, something I could throw on in the evening (twilight) or early morning (dew). Unfortunately, the only ones I owned although comfy, were too worn out to wear it in public. Knit in a loose gauge it to drapes beautifully and is as comfortable as your old sweatshirt. And best of all, you can pull from your stash, head to your local yarn shop or a combination of both.

This sweater is knit at an aran worst gauge of 16 sts using a worsted yarn or a combination of strands yarn (e.g. 3 strands of lace or 2 strands of fingering) that typically provided a 20 sts gauge. Be inspired by colour combos you love, pull from you stash, explore the options at your Local Yarn Shop – make it colourful, make it tonal, make it fun. I have included a schematic to help you explore placement possibilities, so dig out those pencil crayons and play with colours!

This sweater gives you the opportunity to play with your stash,
grab the odds and ends and find your theme. In the blue version, the BG Garn’s Tussah Tweed created the colour palette as the tweedy specs gave me colours for the cotton and linen colours. For the pink version, I had odd balls of orange and pink, and my Espace Tricot (ET) project bag gave me the inspiration to use an oatmeal linen (left over from my ET ombre tank) to create truly ET inspired sweater. And the grey version, allowed me to use a sparkle dk that I loved but only had two balls and could never find a use for it.

This would be the perfect project to play in your local yarn shops bargain basket and/or play with mixing luxury yarns with tried and true favourites.
