Twilight Mist Cowl
Twilight Mist Cowl
My Favorite time of day is when the sun starts to set behind the mountains and whispers of pink streak across the darkening sky. I love how as the sun dips lower the blues and the pinks melt together, making it difficult to see where one begins and the other ends. The colors of twilight were the inspiration for this beginner cable and lace cowl. The lace is created through a two-line repeated pattern. So, if you are new to lace and would like to try it out, this is the perfect pattern for you. There are detailed instructions for creating the cable stitch included within the pattern. I hope you enjoy knitting this soft and cuddly cowl.
Yarn:
Mountain Mist Yarn Company – Doe Fingering – 75 % SW Merino, 25 % Nylon (463 yards / 100 grams)
Mountain Mist Yarn Company – Fawn Lace – 72 % Kid Mohair, 28 % Silk (459 yards / 50 grams)
Colour A1: Twilight Fingering – 264 yrds / 57 grams
Colour A2: Twilight Mohair – 258 yards / 28 grams
Colour B1: Sunset Fingering – 288 yards / 62 grams
Colour B2: Sunset Mohair – 267 yards / 29 grams
Use any fingering weight yarn and mohair yarn with similar fiber content to the yarn listed above.
Please note that if you are using yarn and mohair that highly contrasts against each other, you will end up with a beautiful marled cowl, with stripes that are more visible. So be creative with the colors that you choose!!
