The charm of this sweater lies in its textures and simple shape. A mash-up of few fitting stitch patterns gives it an original look, and its unusual construction triggers the imagination and lets you try something new. I am sure you will look great in it.

Twill and Plain is unusually constructed, one could say it is worked in three different ways – from the side, a bit bottom-up and definitely top-down. It is simpler than it sounds! You just have to prepare well. Swatch, or more adequately, swatches, are crucial to enjoy a mix of one plain and two wonderfully structural patterns in one sweater.
Twill and Plain is mostly seamless, but two seams on the sides are necessary, as they play a big role in the finished garment. Thanks to them, the sweater nicely keeps its shape!

If you hesitate between two sizes and are going for the look from my pictures, pick the smaller one.

2.5 mm, 3 mm and 4 mm circular needles.

Gauge:
Make two swatches. A part of the sweater is made from the side, so the right gauge is crucial to achieve the desired effect and to keep correct proportions:

Chevron st: 29 sts x 60 rows – 10 cm x 10 cm [4” x 4”] on 4 mm needles, after blocking.

Stockinette st: 28 sts x 34 rows - 10 cm x 10 cm [4” x 4”] on 3 mm needles, after blocking.
