Knit from one continuous strand of yarn, the construction makes for a quick, thick oven mitt! Directions are given for 2-circular needle method of knitting in the round (but pattern is adaptable to knitter’s preference for knitting in the small round).

The pattern calls for non-synthetic (heat proof) felting (non-superwash) 100% wool yarn in a super bulky weight. Written for one size with options for adjusting cuff/hand length and/or circumference (considering enough yardage). The finished size will depend upon the knit gauge and amount of felting.

The pattern assumes familiarity with basic (knit and purl) stitches, increasing, decreasing, slipping stitches, I-cord construction, knitting in the round, short row shaping, grafting, and felting, (or access to instructions and/or videos).

The construction is engaging, fast and provides a useful kitchen tool and thoughtful gift!

Finished Sample Measurements (Felted):
Cuff circumference: 14 inches / 35.5 cm
Height: 10 inches / 25.5 cm

Note: Finished measurements will be affected by gauge, yarn choice and felting.
