This scarf is made of a combination of twisted stitches either side of a snaking single cable, with a soft lacy frill to the ends. The twisted stitches create a thick fabric which makes the scarf very warm. The twisted stitch takes a little getting used to but is relatively easy to do, once you have completed a few rows you will have found a good rhythm.
I made one sample using Bergere de France Magic+ and one sample using Mirasol Miski (which is wonderfully soft), but any worsted, double knit or aran would work just as well. I recommend a slightly larger needle than you would normally use as the twisted stitch works better with large needles.
The finished size is 150cm (60 inches) long by 17cm (7½ inches) wide when blocked.
The size is easily adapted and the scarf could be made with a plain edge. Information on how to do this is included in the pattern.
