This half circle shawl is designed to look like a butterfly in flight. The pattern is fairly simple, each wing growing from the center feather and fan pattern. Texture is provided using twisted right- and left-cross cables and slipped stitches. The icord edge is added as the pattern is worked. There are no yarn breaks except to add new skeins. Finishing is a breeze!

This version was created using a bulky weight yarn on US10 circular needles. This pattern can easily be adapted to a finer yarn by extending the wing increases.
