I love a challenge. This is my first ever shawl pattern (and third shawl ever knitted), and boy was it a challenge! I had to read and study the basics as well as knitting several types of shapes, before I got stuck with this one. It is a crescent shaped shawl, perfect to wrap around your neck on chilly days. It has my signature hearts, as well as an easily knitted garter stitch section for a fast knit.

To get the perfect hearts, I’ve come up with some new stitches to remove the CC yarn from showing at the decreases. To help you, I’ve as always added a picture tutorial section at the end as well as added a few helpful links.

Good luck and happy knitting!

Yarn: Both samples are knitted with Drops Merino Extra Fine 50g (1.76 ounces)/105m (115 yards). Colours M (MC: 01 Off White CC: 30 Mustard, 18 Green) and L (MC: 01 Off White CC: 11 Red, 28 North Sea). You can use any other DK yarn, or any other weight with the corresponding recommended needles, but note that this will affect the finished size.

Needles: 4.0 mm/US 6.0, or size needed to obtain gauge. 60-120 cm/32’’ circular needle.

Gauge: 20 stitches and 38 rows for 10x10 cm garter stitch after blocking

Yardage: Sample M: MC 460yds/420m, CC 80yds/65m for first, 115yds/105m for second brioche round
Sample L: MC 805yds/735m, CC 95yds/85m for first, 140yds/125m for second brioche round

Finished size:
Sample M: wingspan 187 cm, 42 cm deepest width (after blocking)
Sample L: wingspan 263 cm, 50 cm deepest width (after blocking)

Other tools: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends, stitch marker

Notes: This pattern have some more advanced brioche stitches, so it is helpful if you are familiar with brioche. I’ve however added a basic brioche picture tutorial, as well as picutre tutorials for the more advanced stitches to assist you in making this shawl!
