Fingerless mittens knit in two colours of 4ply or fingering weight yarn. The pattern suits variegated yarns paired with a contrasting solid. The use of simple twisted stitches and knit and purl stitches gives an interesting lattice effect on the back of the mitten, while the palm side has a simple striped pattern.

The instructions are for knitting in the round using magic loop, but could be done with double-pointed needles.

Knit as per instructions these will fit an average female hand - there is not a lot of stretch with this pattern. If a slightly wider fit is needed, go up a needle size. For a tighter fit, go down a needle size.

Sample Measurements: Width around top of mittens - 14.5 cm - stretched out to 18 cm. Cast on edge to beginning of thumb gusset - 8 cm. Total length 22 cm

The orange sample mittens took less than 40g of Patons Patonyle and less than 30g of Patons Patonyle Magic.
