You are in a little maze of twisty passages – all different…

Six ‘twisty passages’ of yarn follow their pre-set course from the cuff to the fingers, meeting, intertwining and returning to their starting positions to do it all again, forming an intricate colour work pattern.

There is an Estonian colour work technique called Roositud inlay where you “embroider as you knit”. These mitts do the same but in a very different manner with no stranding of yarn across the back. If it wasn’t for having to weave in the ends they are almost good enough to wear inside out.

Due to the nature of the colour work these mitts are best made using 2 circular needles or magic loop. The pattern has been written to reflect this.

As well as your main yarn you will need 10-11 yards in the first contrast colour and 5-6 yards in the second contrast colour.

The colour work is charted using SitchMastery and the pattern includes full written instructions.
