An easy to memorise pattern for a beautifully textured broken rib beanie, turn up brim hat and cowl.
Worked bottom up and in the round.
The pattern is ideal for binge watching your favourite TV shows and when you need a an easy travel project.
There is no right or wrong side, just two different textures, so choose the one you like best or sew in the ends invisibly to make your hat and cowl fully reversible.
I am not a pattern designer just some-one who likes to knit and play with stitches. If you spot an error please let me know and I will correct it.

Yarns used:
Striped are James C Brett Marble Chunky

Skills Level:
Beginner.

Skills required:
Cast on and off, knitting in the round, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, knit 2 stitches together, and for the cowl only cast off.
The pattern is written in a line by line format.

Materials required:
80m (95m) chunky for the beanie.
120m (145m) chunky for the turn up brim hat.
145m chunky for the cowl
40cm 5.0mm circular needles and 5mm double pointed needles for the hats.
50cm 5.0mm circular needles for the cowl, though it can be knitted on 40cm.
Stitch Marker.
Darning needle to sew in ends.

Tension:
Ball band tension: 14 stitches x 20 rows = 10cm on 6mm needles.
In pattern 18 stitches x 30 rows = 10cm on 5mm needles

Notes
I used the cable cast on and the standard cast off.
To alter the circumference of the hat add or subtract in multiples of 8 or for the cowl in multiples of 2.
With a tension square and a bit of maths the patterns are easy to adjust for different weight yarns.

Two downloads are available one with pictures and one without.

Now for the the boring bit.
