Designed to show off the beautiful colour changes in yarn cakes, Two Sisters can be crocheted as a bottom up triangle or a rectangular wrap.

Two Sisters is inspired by my two daughters. They are so similar and yet so different. The shell pattern for each version is the same, whilst the colours of the two Scheepjes Whirls reflect their differences. For my youngest, the pretty, vivid yellows, peaches, pinks and reds of Fruity O’Tutty exactly match her fun and sunny nature. My oldest has that same happy character, perfectly matched by the bold yellows in Dandelion Munchies, but it is tempered by her growing maturity, represented in the grey and black tones.

The rhythm of the pattern is easy to pick up, with a 2 row repeat for the shawl and a 4 row repeat for the wrap, which works both the body of the shawl and its neat border simultaneously. Best suited to intermediate or confident beginners who have mastered all the basic stitches including double treble crochet (UK)/treble crochet (US).

The size can be adjusted easily but note that amount of yarn required will change. Achieving an exact gauge is not essential, as long as stitch tension remains consistent throughout.

Yarn is Scheepjes Whirl in Fruity O’Tutty (triangular shawl) and Dandelion Munchies (rectangular wrap). Each version uses 1 ball.

ERRATA
For rectangular shawl, row 30 is incorrect. UK: first dcp is worked in first dc/US: first scp worked in first sc.
