Tyyne Maria is a colorwork cushion with a floral pattern on both sides.

The cushion is knitted seamlessly from the bottom up using two colors. The floral pattern is inspired by the handmade flower cushions my grandmother made in the 1970s–1980s. The cushion is named after her. I hope you enjoy knitting this retro-style cushion and that it brings you as much joy as it has brought me!

You will need:

• 8 mm circular needles (preferably with at least 80 cm cable)
• Vuonue Unelma yarn in two colors (100g/about 120m, 100% single ply Finnish wool). About 70g of the main color Vaalea sinivihreä and about 50g of the contrast color Ruoste.
• Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair yarn (25g/225m, 70% mohair, 30% silk) in two colors. About 15g of the main color Dusty Aqua and about 10g of the contrast color Rust.
• Tapestry needle
• Filling for the cushion, e.g., stuffing or a 30 x 30 cm (12” x 12”) inner pillow
• Stitch holder or scrap yarn

Measurements:

Gauge 10 x 10 cm (4” x 4”) = 11 stitches x 11 rounds (after blocking and shaping to measurements)

Finished cushion size = approximately 34 x 34 cm (14” x 14”)

Techniques used:

• Traditional stranded colorwork
• Turkish cast-on
• Magic loop technique
• Grafting using Kitchener stitch

Please note that the pattern does not have separate instructions for these techniques. Therefore the pattern is suggested for intermediate knitters. You can easily find instruction videos from Youtube for all the techiques used in this pattern.

Tyyne Maria on kirjoneuletyyny, jonka molempia puolia korostaa kukkakuvio.

Tyyny neulotaan saumattomasti alhaalta ylös kahdella värillä. Kukkakuvio on saanut inspiraationsa isoäitini käsintehdyistä kukkatyynyistä 1970-1980-luvulta. Tyyny on nimetty hänen mukaansa. Toivottavasti nautit tämän retrohenkisen tyynyn neulomisesta ja se tuo sinulle iloa yhtä paljon kuin minulle!

Tarvitset:

• Pyöröpuikot 8mm (mieluiten yli 80cm kaapelilla)
• Vuonue Unelma hahtuvalankaa kahdessa värissä (100g/noin. 120m, 100% suomalainen villa).
Pohjaväriä Vaalea sinivihreä noin 70 g ja kuvioväriä Ruoste noin 50 g.
• Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair lankaa kahdessa värissä (25g/225m, 70% mohair ja 30% silkki)
Pohjaväriä Dusty Aqua noin 15 g ja kuvioväriä Rust noin 10 g.
• Päättelyneula
• Täytettä tyynyn sisälle, esim. vanua tai 30x30cm sisätyyny
• Silmukkakaapeli tai jämälankaa

Mitat:

Valmiin tyynyn koko = noin 34 x 34 cm

Tiheys 10 x 10 cm = noin 11 s x 11 krs (viimeisteltynä ja mittoihinsa aseteltuna).
