Here is a marvellous set that appears to be fashioned out of brocade-- but of course it’s only knit and purl stitches used to perfect effect. Armholes are indented once for a modified drop shoulder; sleeve caps are flat, so you really don’t have to worry about anything except getting the stitch patterning right. Bands (neatly delineated for boy or girl) are worked up from stitches on hold at the hem and sewn down afterwards. Do work in a solid colour for this design to point up the textures. Hat is knit flat and seamed.
