Ulmus americana or American Elm is an extremely hardy tree that can withstand winter temperatures as low as −42 °C. Its bark has intricate fissures that provide interest through the long, cold winters of Canada. The Ulmus hat portrays these characteristics using twisted stitches along with detailed cabling.
The Ulmus Hat is worked bottom up from charted or written instructions.

Notions needed: TWO cable needles, 8-10 stitch markers if marking each repeat, darning needle, measuring tape
