This is a tvåändsstickning (twined) hat that may be the warmest you will ever own, with a double layer of already double-dense twined knitting around the brim. The pattern is for a single size, to fit a head circumference of 22-24”.

This is a challenging pattern that uses tvåändsstickning hook stitch (mosaic) patterns, two-colour grafting, and shaping in pattern. This pattern is not recommended for twined knitting beginners, and familiarity with grafting (Kitchener stitch) is important. Pattern support is available from the designer.

You will need two skeins of worsted weight yarn (100g, approx. 200m) in contrasting colours. The hat can be worked on double-pointed needles, or on a longer circular needle via the magic loop technique.

The brim of the hat is worked first as a long tube that is grafted top-to-bottom to form a tubular head band. Stitches are then picked up along one edge and worked upwards to the crown.
