An easy stranded-knitting hat for babies, toddlers and children, with a braided long-tail cast-on and two-color ribbing. Written directions provided (no chart).

Three colors of yarn are needed, and at least two of them should be highly contrasting. Three balls of GGH Bali should make at least two hats.

If you are new to stranded knitting you may wish to read this article from Knitty: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/FEATwin06TT.html This project is a good first project because you are knitting in the round, and there are no more than three stitches between colors. It may be easier to knit in the round using the two circular needles if you are not experienced with double-pointed needles.
