Thank you for supporting my small business! **

When designing Understory, I was finding my inspiration from a recent trip to Quadra Island, Canada BC. The beautiful landscape of rocky beaches, accented by large, vibrant evergreens and serene waters which gets interrupted by a whale enjoying nature and singing his song; these memories are what inspired this pattern. The yarn used is Garnstudio DROPS Nepal, in the colorway Forest. This yarn has such a rustic but yet soft texture and in itself feels like the imagery above. The alpaca, counterbalances the wool, creating a very warm and soft fabric but also still holds the characteristics of structured wool. Being spun from 3 strands, it allows for stunning stitch definition perfect for cables. The hat begins with a twisted rib accented by simple, fair isle color work, which then transitions to the body which incorporates simple cables. I am very excited to introduce to you this hat; it was a very enjoyable knit, but yet also allowed me to imagine myself standing on that beach again. Happy Making!
