This pattern is a wonderful showcase for self-striping or gradient yarns. By using two different color ways, changing every two rounds, no two hats will ever be exactly the same. I used Red Heart Unforgattable yarn, but any worsted weight self-striping or gradient yarn would work. Knit Picks Croma would be an excellent choice as well. And for the more conservative recipients, solids or heathered yarns would be ideal. Team colors, anyone?
