A perfect accessory for any whimsical person in your life, this unicorn headband is a cozy double-layered band that will keep anyone’s head warm for 3 months-adult. This headband begins with a provisional cast-on at the middle of the underside, uses short-rows shaping, and returns to the middle underside to be kitchener stitched with the cast-on for a seamless finish.

Yarn: Katia Merino Fine in white or light grey (1 skein 50 g/160m or 1.76oz/175yds), pink for the ears (4g/13m or 0.14oz/14yds), color(s) of choice for the horn (4g/13m or 0.14oz/14yds total), black to embroider the eyes. (Cotton yarn also works for horn, ears and eyes if preferred.)

Gauge: 27 sts and 38 rows= 10cm/4”

Needles: 2 sets of 3.5mm/US 4 circular needles with 15cm/6” cord. Optionally for the horn and ears, you can use 3.5mm/US 4 straight needles or DPNs

Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle, stuffing for horn (if desired)

Finished sizes: (1) 38cm/15” (2) 40cm/15.75” (3) 42cm/16.5” (4) 44cm/17.3” (5) 46cm/18” The finished circumference is meant to be roughly 5-10cm/ 2-4” negative ease as the headband is quite stretchy.
