This piece is fairly long for a cowl and can be wrapped once or twice around the neck. Feel free to shorten it a bit if the length doesn’t suit you. As you are knitting, just wrap the piece around your neck to check the fit and drape, and when it seems right to you, just skip to the seed stitch top border section, work the buttonholes and you’re all set!

The stitch to the left of the cable crossing can sometimes be pulled out of shape very easily. To help minimize this, give the yarn an extra tug after knitting the last stitch of cable and again after working the following stitch.
