Inspiration for this shawl originally came from the song “Defying Gravity” from the Broadway musical “Wicked”. This shawl begins at the smallest bottom point and radiates outward and upward to an unlimited size. The expansive nature of the stitch pattern creates a rhythmic, lofty horizon! I love the idea of art with unlimited possibilities; I wanted to design a piece that could be knit with almost any amount of yardage and a lightweight yarn, and also in a design that would be appropriate for showing the beauty of hand dyed yarn. The stitch pattern is reversible - you can wear either side facing for two unique looks!

Pattern includes notes on all sizing, and gives specifics about the sample shawls.

Sampled Yarns:
Gray Shawl: No Two Snowflakes Fingering Merino (100% Superwash Merino) in “With The Wizard”, 440 yds/100 grams. Knit on US size 4
Green Shawl: No Two Snowflakes Silky Wool Fingering (50% Superwash Merino Wool/50% Silk) in “Defying Gravity”, 360 yds/ 4oz, Knit on US size 6
Both samples shown measure 48” at the top width, 22” from the center in length.

Yardage:
Shawlette: 360-400 yds, Shawl: 700-900 yds( approximate), Extra Large Shawl: 1900-2000 yds, (approximate)
