Unlucky Stars is a star garland that is knit all in one piece with no seams! That means it’s a perfect last minute knit because when you’re done, you only have two ends to weave in. It’s based on a 13 stitch repeat for the star (hence the name) and can be knit in any yarn you prefer.

If you like, you can stuff the stars as you go, but I think they’re still perfectly charming as they are. This pattern was designed for DPNS and their small size makes them unsuitable for circular needles.

This pattern requires familiarity with the following:
-Picking up and knitting stitches
-i-cord
-provisional cast on

Accessibility Notes:
This pattern is color-blind accessible because it is written entirely in fully saturated black text on a white background. The written instructions are complete explanations, with an added photo tutorial at the end. The photos are not necessary for knitting the pattern and the pattern is formatted so the written instructions can be printed without interruption. The photos have been tested with a color-blind simulator and have high contrast between the background (black) the needles (purple) and the yarn (yellow).

As a disabled designer, accessibility is very important to me, so if there’s anything I can do to make the pattern better for my fellow disabled knitters, please let me know!
