This is a fun take on the traditional French Beret or Tam.

Four sizes are included:
Women’s Small: Head circumference 20” - 21”
Women’s Medium: Head circumference 21” - 22”
Women’s Large: Head circumference 22” - 23”
Women’s X-Large: Head circumference 23” -24”

The hat is knitted bottom up, seamlessly in the round. It starts with the corrugated 2-color rib and ends with 8 decreases per round to finish at the top (with dpns). After the rib the abstract and modern fair-isle pattern is worked following charts as well as written instructions.
The charts can either be printed along with the rest of the pattern or if you prefer to access the charts online they are linked to Chart Minder which you can use in knitting mode to highlight the round that you are currently working on. It can be a big help.
Additionally, there are links to video tutorials and more in the pattern.
The knitter has an option to felt the hat or to leave it unfelted. Instructions for felting included.

I have used Kelbourne Woolens, Andorra in Snow White and Noro, Yuzen in self-striping color. The latter is a discontinued yarn but if you have 1 skein, that is all you need for a hat. Consider substituting for another self-striping single-ply yarn. You can find good matches using Yarnsub.com
