This easy pattern designed for one cake of self-striping yarn makes a lovely gift for people of all ages and genders. Wear it knotted like a scarf or draped like a wrap. It’s a beginner-friendly project with a relaxing two-row repeat.

Requires only chain and double crochet stitches in US terms.

Yarn: about 590 yards (540 meters) of dk weight yarn (light, category 3).

The sample scarf used 1 cake of Lion Brand Mandala yarn (100% acrylic; 590 yards (450 m) per 150-gram cake) in the colorway Mothra.

You can use any yarn you like. Use the hook size recommended on the label. You can use scraps if you prefer. Go with the flow of color changes- no cutting or controlling of colors needed.

5 mm hook.
