Named after the famous line from P.G. Wodehouse’s short story “Ordeal by Golf”:

“The least thing upset him on the links. He missed short putts because of the uproar of butterflies in the adjoining meadows,”

these wrist warmers make me think of spring, with their butterflies alighting on my hands. They are ribbed around the wrist, thumb, and fingers for a snuggly feel and extra warmth, and they reach the knuckles for extra coverage.

Knit from sock yarn, they are lightweight and drapey, so they mold to your hand, and they can be worn well into spring, when there is still a chill in the air but gloves and mittens are too warm and heavy.

This a great pattern for beginners.
