UraUe Plain Drop is a drop-shoulder vest worked seamlessly from the top down. Like the other UraUe vests, it is reversible and no additional finishing is required.
The pattern includes two versions, S/S (spring/summer) and A/W (autumn/winter). The S/S version has a crew neck with optional short rows (can be worked without for a wider neckline), and a straight hem, while the A/W version includes a mock turtleneck, slightly larger armholes than the S/S version, and a slightly shaped hem. You can mix and match according to your preference; note that this will alter the yardage required.
Knitting starts with the neckband in the round, shaping the neckline with German short rows, and increasing to the final shoulder width. Front and back yokes are then worked flat separately to the underarm during which the back armhole is made longer than the front. They are joined again and the body is worked in the round with side faux seams. For the A/W version, decreases are made overall before the ribbing at the hem.
The pattern instructions are written, not charted.

Notes
Wool or wool blend yarn works well with this pattern, as the armholes have no edging.
Please note that the yardage is estimated and can vary depending on your yarn, gauge, modifications, etc. When using yarn thicker than suggested, you may need approximately 10 to 20% more yarn than the listed yardage.
Adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
Please wash your swatch and dry it flat before measuring the gauge.

LEVEL
Intermediate: Seamless top-down construction, knitting, purling, twisted sts, slipped sts, cable sts (not for traditional cable pattern but for reversible design), increasing, decreasing, casting on, binding off, working flat and in the round, German short rows.
