Ursula and Bernard Bear are both knit from the same instructions, simply using different weight yarns and needle sizes to achieve the different sizes. This way, you can choose the yarn type you already have, or that’s easily available to you. All the toy pieces are knit in the round on double pointed needles, and the only major seams are at the bottoms of the feet.

Skills required include: stockinette, m1L and m1R increases, kfbf increase, k2tog and ssk decreases, picking up stitches, working stripes, and ribbing.

Ursula: 30 g of DK weight yarn in colour A, 20 g of DK weight yarn in contrasting colour B, set of four 3 mm (US size 2.5) double-pointed needles (dpns), set of four 3.5 mm (US size 5) dpns, pair of 9 mm safety eyes.
Bernard: 45 g of worsted weight yarn in colour A, 25 g of worsted weight yarn in contrasting colour B, set of four 3.75 mm (US size 5) dpns, set of four 4.5 mm (US size 7) dpns, pair of 10.5 mm safety eyes.
Both: scrap yarn or stitch holders, polyester stuffing, black and pink yarn to embroider face, tapestry needle, pom-pom (optional)
