This pattern is made using US crochet terms.
The poncho is worked in the round, top down, and the neck edging is added last.

Gauge: 3 V-st = 2 inches, 4 rows = 2 inches for DK weight yarn
Yarn: DK weight (original work-up used Marks & Kattens Madrid, 100% acrylic)
Yardage: 640 meters, 700 yards
Hook: 5mm (H) or size needed to make correct gauge.
Size: Indicated yarn and gauge makes a poncho which is ca 20 inches long in the front.
