Measles outbreaks are surging across the U.S., with over 317 confirmed cases in Texas and New Mexico alone. Whooping cough (pertussis) cases have quadrupled, reaching over 16,000 cases in 2024. These preventable diseases are making a comeback, not due to some natural resurgence, but because misinformation and anti-vaccine rhetoric have led people to reject basic public health measures.

Vaccines don’t cause autism. They don’t contain microchips. They don’t rewrite DNA. While minor side effects are normal, vaccines significantly reduce preventable deaths and improve public health outcomes. In short, vaccines help ensure more people live long enough to become adults.

This square uses my standard 26x26 window interlocking crochet format. If you are unsure how to do Interlocking crochet, there are instructions in the pattern with a video to get you through the first 4 rows. Gauge is not important, but your hook and yarn choice will affect the final size.
