Wadden Sea Socks are cozy, thick socks knitted in Alpaca Soxx 6-ply from Lang Yarns.

With their long leg, they are perfect for wearing in boots or simply for keeping your feet warm at night.

The socks are worked from the cuff down with a gusset heel and a band toe, finished with Kitchener stitch. The pattern is written for one size (EU 40-42), but it can easily be adjusted to fit EU 37-39 or 4345 by changing needle size and making a few modifications to the heel and foot, as described in the instructions.

The gusset heel gives a great fit for a high instep, but if you have a very low instep, you can substitute it with your favourite heel construction. The band toe is especially suited to narrower feet, which often makes it a good option for women’s sizes. As with the heel, you’re welcome to use your preferred toe shaping, if you like.
