Have a pile of yarn scraps you can’t bear to throw away? Vagabond Tote was designed to put those leftovers to good use!
The bag features a simple filet mesh base and is worked using your choice of scrap yarns. Because your yarn selection is entirely up to you, every Vagabond Tote can be completely unique.
Pattern Includes
Written instructions in UK and US terminology
11-page PDF with photographs throughout
Instructions for a simple crocheted strap
Information and a source for the macramé strap shown in my sample
Please Note About the Macramé Strap
The pattern does not include instructions for making the macramé strap shown on my sample.
Instead, I have provided a source for the macramé method I used, along with the approximate amount of macramé cotton used for my sample.
Please be aware that requirements may vary depending on the knotting technique used, the firmness of the finished strap and the length of strap required.
Yarn & Hooks
Use your favourite yarn scraps — there is no specific yarn requirement for this project.
For my sample, I used a combination of scrap yarns and several hook sizes for different sections of the tote:
5.5 mm (I)
6.5 mm (K)
4.5 mm
Gauge is not particularly relevant for this project, as both the gauge and finished size will vary depending on the yarn and scraps you choose to use.
This is an easy project, but a basic understanding of crochet and the ability to follow written instructions is required.
Gather up those scraps and give them a new life with the Vagabond Tote!
