The Valais Slipover gets its name from the sunny Alpine canton of Switzerland. It can be knitted in cosy wooly yarns as a winter slipover, or in light summer yarns as a tank top.

The slipover is worked top-down in faux cable pattern. First the back yoke is worked with shoulder shaping, then the two front pieces are picked up and worked individually before joining at the bottom of the V-neck. The front and back are joined to work in the round, down to the hem, and finished in faux cable edging.
