ABOUT
This is an easy to knit and playful skirt that is worked from the top down in stockinette stitch, with eyelet increases. You can choose to knit the skirt with 8 or 6 sections, depending on how wide you’d like the skirt to become. A decorative eyelet hem makes a nice finish. The integrated elastic in the waistband (with practical opening on the inside) makes it possible to adjust the size of the skirt.

SIZES
You can knit this skirt in 4 sizes:
2-4 years: will fit a waist circumference of approx. 54 cm (21¼ inch)
6-8 years: will fit a waist circumference of approx. 58 cm (22¾ inch)
10-12 years: will fit a waist circumference of approx. 63 cm (24¾ inch)
14-16 years: will fit a waist circumference of approx. 69 cm (27¼ inch)

MATERIALS
The Valentine Skirt is designed to be knitted with a single DK yarn weight merino wool or cotton yarn. Of course feel free to use a different quality, just keep in mind that it could change the look & feel of the skirt.

Yarn weight:
For the skirt with 8 sections you will need (incl. swatch) approx. 170 (195) 230 (270) g of merino wool or cotton yarn. In skeins of 50 g: 4 (4) 5 (6) skeins. In skeins of 100 g: 2 (2) 3 (3) skeins.

For the skirt with 6 sections you will need (incl. swatch) approx. 155 (175) 200 (230) g of merino wool or cotton yarn. In skeins of 50 g: 4 (4) 4 (5) skeins. In skeins of 100 g: 2 (2) 2 (3) skeins.
