Valerie is a snug fit twisted rib headband, for adults and children
This is a quick project that can be completed in an evening.

It’s named after my mum who has lovingly gone on tour with me to trade shows up and down the UK helping me to sell and promote my very own British Branded yarn - BareFaced. The headband was her idea so its only fitting I name it after her - thanks mum!

Note it takes less than 1 skein for a headband.

Ability: Intermediate

You will need:
one pair 7mm straight needles
Stitch holders
Tapestry needle for sewing up

Yarn approx:
40g:60g of chunky weight yarn approx. (38:57m/42:62yds)

I used:
BareFaced Chunky available from www.jostorieknits.com

Tension:
In fisherman’s rib pattern using 7mm (10.5 U.S) needles:
12sts x 26 rows over 10 x 10cm (4”x 4”)
Adjust your needle size to match this tension.

Note on sizing:
Will stretch to fit an average adult head and a child’s head however the pattern is very easy to adjust to a larger or smaller head by working more or less rows before and after the twist.
