It’s never to early to start making goodies for the Halloween season! As such I have had my trusty hook trained on a few Vampiric delights. This one happens to be a replica of a portable and highly sought after snack for our undead friends, the blood bag!

The pattern utilizes size 10 crochet thread and a 1.5 mm hook. Finished bag is approximately 4 1/2” x 7 1/2” if made with thread. Now, as with all of my thread based patterns, sizing up is not a problem. Just use heavier weight yarn and a corresponding hook that will give you a fairly tight fabric. Your blood bag will be gigantic, but hey, I’m not going to judge you for wanting to crochet a larger than life bag o’ blood!

Directions use US crochet terminology and abbreviations and are appropriate for an experienced beginner and beyond. I will tell you that my patterns are written in a very traditional style. Meaning, if you can read a crochet pattern from the 1950’s or 1960’s, then you should have no problem reading in my patterns.

Show your love for our undead friends, decorate your Halloween tree with blood bag ornaments or hey, just let people know that you bloody love them by gifting them a very unusual hand made ornament! Whatever your purposes for choosing this pattern, start crocheting some blood bags today!!
