What’s a vampire squid?

Actually a species of octopus, the deceptively-named vampire squid is a mysterious creature from the deep sea, whose hobbies include “eating marine snow” and “terrifying marine biologists so much that they misidentify it.”

Now you can make a cuddly vampire squid of your own! (Hobbies may include “snuggling” and “charming marine biologists so much that they misidentify it.”)

This is a pattern for a vampire squid amigurumi. It is crocheted in four pieces and sewn together.

When worked in worsted-weight yarn, the finished squid is approximately 4.5 inches long at the base, 4.5 inches wide, and 5.5 inches tall, although sizes will of course vary with yarn and stitching. Any colors can be used, so you can get as crazy as you like!

The pattern contains a full key, written instructions, and a detailed step-by-step construction guide with photos to help you put your vampire squid together!
