Watermarks is a large, soft shawl knitted in alpaca held with silk mohair in a soothing rib pattern with i-cord edgings and a wavy i-cord picot border in sock yarn held double. The large area of the shawl is broken up into sections of horisontal stripes of silk mohair and vertical columns of holes. Held against the light, the stripes will seem as watermarks and the columns of lace will beautifully align themselves with your arms and back.

This is a simple yet elegant design for you to spice up with numerous colors or keep muted in a single color. Originally designed for G-uld No. 1 (100% alpaca), which comes in skeins of 50g / 160 m, the models shown here have “watermarks” according to this meterage, but if you use e.g. Hesselgarn Story (20% alpaca, 20% silk, 60% merino), you may experiment with placing watermarks differently and thus create your own personal expression.

The two yarn bases are heavenly soft held together and yield a comforting heaviness. The design makes sure that the shawl stays in place on your shoulders. That’s #kaerwear for me - and for you!
