Vanilla Cupcake Socks
These socks came out of a basic necessity to keep my husband well supplied with simple, warm work socks. After a particularly snowy year, my kids also needed some pairs to keep their toes nice and toasty in their boots. Turns out the socks worked so well that they became the go to sock for all boot wearing occasions.
These socks are written top down, casting on at the cuff and working your way to the toe. I find these socks are the easiest to try on as I work using small circular knitting needles., and my toes don’t cause the stitches to fall off the needles as easily.
The heel is a traditional heel flap and gusset, using the eye of partridge style of construction to provide an extra thick well cushioned heel.
The socks are made using worsted weight yarn, providing an extra thick and durable sock. I recommend using a worsted weight sock yarn made out of wool and nylon for the toughest of socks, but any worsted weight wool will make lovely warm thick socks
