This pattern collection includes three toe-up, shortrow heel sock patterns which have been created to be ‘vanilla’, or easy straightforward knitting. TV and zoom meeting appropriate

But with a bit extra! These three patterns have been created to use those gorgeous sock sets and bits of special leftovers.

They are called Stripes for Days, Colour Dipped and Fair-Isle-y Simple. There are instructions included for a German shirtrow heel, or use the Fish Lips Kiss Heel

And…because I like extra…I’ve included 6 Add-On options! Make your socks in Vanilla as it Gets….or choose from the 5 other ribbing patterns to spice up the foot and/or leg of your sock.

Basically making this collection a ‘choose your own adventure’ with a total of 18 different outcomes all in one pattern!

If you are new to socks, or need a refresher, I have included a page of tutorial links to help you along. And with six sizes to choose from: Toddler to XLarge adult, there are sock options here for everyone ❤

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do, and that this pattern brings you tons of vanilla sock joy!

Skills Required
Judy’s Magic Cast-on, working in the round, knit, purl, German short rows or Fish Lips Kiss Heel, increasing, stranded colourwork knitting, bind off using a stretchy method.

Materials
Sample Yarn Used:

Stripes for Days are made from Brine Dyeworks, Merino Sock, 75% merino, 25% nylon, 423m/463yds, 100g, in colours Dirty Weather (navy), Urchin (purple) and Mineral (teal).

Colour-Dipped used a sock set from Woolberry, Berry Sock, 80% SW BFL, 20% nylon, 400yds/100g, in colours Sweater Weather (speckled main colour) and a tonal yellow mini.

Fair-Isle-y Simple used a sock set from Flock Fibre Studios, Take a Hike Sock, 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon, 420yds/115g, in Peach Pit with a mini in Antique Shop.

Yardage: each of the sock patterns is designed to use a 20g mini, or two for the Stripes for Days, and then a 100g skein of the main colour. How much of the 100g main colour used will vary by size of course, but 100g of main colour is more than sufficient for even the largest size. Large and XLarge may require more yardage for the contrast colour(s). This is dependent on knitter gauge/amount of yardage of the yarn.

Suggested Needles:
2.5mm/US 1.5, 80cm/32” length for magic loop for the stockinette stitch section OR size(s) needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 34sts and 42 rounds/10cm or 4”, in the round, in stockinette stitch.
