This is the second in a series of design inspired by my musical grandson. I call this one Variation on a Theme. The theme is the crescent shape created for Crescendo. This design uses the same stitch pattern but by varying the cast on and bind off, the result is a ruffled scarf. This, too starts it starts as a gentle garter curve that rythmically grows into multiple matching curves but requires little attention. It begins with one spiral and additional spirals are added as you go using markers to help keep them separated. Each spiral uses the same 2 row repeat pattern. The final scarf can have as many or few curves as you like, but you are never working with more than 3 at a time because of the variation in the bind off. The length can easily be modified by creating fewer spirals for a neck warmer length or adding extra spirals as your yarn allows.

Because these two designs are a part of the same theme, I have decided to offer them as a special package. When you purchase Variation on a Theme you can add Crescendo for just $1.00. The adjustment will be automatically given when you check out by placing only those 2 patterns in your cart.

If you have already purchased Crescendo just put Variation on a Theme at a discount (if I set it up correctly! Please let me know if it does not work for you.)
This design is also eligible for my Buy 3 Get 1 Free Promotion. Just put 3 patterns in your cart and the lowest price will automatically be deducted when you check out. No coupon code needed.

Please note that Ravlery will only honor 1 promotion at a time.

I found the yarn in a shop in Philadelphia I was able to visit during my stay. This yarn is dyed locally just a few blocks from the shop. Fortunately, is is also available directly from the dyer through her Etsy shop.
