The sweater VÅRKLØVER (SPRING CLOVER) is worked from the bottom up in the round, then divided for armholes and neck before working the separate parts flat to the shoulders. The front neckband is worked as you go, leaving the live stitches on holders. The shoulder seams are grafted using the three-needle bind off. The neckband is then continued in the back from one side, and grafted using Kitchener stitch on the other side. Stitches are then picked up around the armholes and sleeves are worked from the top down, starting with short rows to shape the sleeve cap. The edges on this sweater are worked in seed stitch and the Fair Isle band uses eight co-ordinating colours; the chart and colour inspiration were found in “A Shetlander’s Fair Isle Graph Book”. The rest of the sweater is worked in the main colour, with seed stitch diamonds spread over the bottom half of the body and sleeves.
