VeeTop
VeeTop is a summer top that you can style in all sorts of exciting ways. It is knitted in narrow stripes and vibrant colours. As you work in stocking stitch, increase, decrease and change colours, you create a geometrical V-pattern. VeeTop is knitted from the bottom up. First you work in the round, then you divide the work at the armholes and knit the front and back separately, working back and forth on the needles. You work a vertical I-cord along the armhole effectively weaving in the yarn tails between the stripes to create a soft edge. Finally, you graft the shoulders together using Kitchener stitch. Working diagonally gives the work a soft drape. Make sure you don’t make your top too big. Allow a positive ease of 5-10 cm relative to your bust measurement or your widest body measurement.
Read the pattern before you start. We recommend that you knit the pattern sample in order to practise the techniques and ensure that your yarns are suitable for this pattern.
Enjoy your knitting!
