Veil Socks
This pattern is part of the SingingSockTogether2026 e-book and is not available as a standalone download at this time. Individual patterns will be released separately in 2027.
Veil Socks are worked from the cuff down, combining a gradually shifting colorwork motif with a comfortable and thoughtfully shaped sock construction. The socks begin with a 1x1 ribbed cuff worked in a contrasting color.
The leg features a stranded colorwork motif that gradually builds in density and then fades into the main color, creating a soft, layered effect. Once the colorwork is complete, the remainder of the sock is worked in the main color.
Before the heel, additional stitches are gradually increased around the instep to create extra depth and improve the fit. The heel is shaped using short rows, creating a smooth and comfortable heel without a traditional flap and gusset. When heel is completed, the additional stitches are decreased to return the sock to its original circumference.
The foot is worked entirely in stockinette stitch for simplicity and a comfortable fit. The socks end with a classic wedge toe, shaped with symmetrical decreases and closed using grafting for a smooth, seamless edge.
