When I created VEILCHEN I was aiming for a sweater that meets two needs. On the one hand I wanted it to be super warm and comfortable, so that I would feel like being wrapped in a cozy blanket all day. But on the other hand, I wanted a sweater that really can be shown off in public as well and is not only worn sitting on the couch on Sundays.

The result is this generously oversized but still slightly cropped sweater made from an alpaca blend yarn that could not be softer. The beautiful and yet simple cable that starts at the neckline and runs over the shoulder all the way down to the sleeve cuff gives VEILCHEN the elegance I wanted it to have.

I named this sweater VEILCHEN which is the German name for the violet flower, also called viola, because I wanted a sweater that is - even though made from a very warm fabric - just as delicate as those tiny purple blossoms.

VEILCHEN is constructed seamlessly from the top down.

I hope you will like it just as much as I do! Happy knitting!

This pattern went through technical editing and test knitting. I was not able to find testers for the sizes 2XS, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL though. If you are interested in testing one of these sizes, please send me a message.
