Vela tee
Vela comes from Italian, meaning “sail”. This tee was inspired by the little boats moving steadily through the waterways of Venice. The name also reflects the design details: the cable pattern recalls ropes on boats, while the lace motif mirrors the gentle ripples boats leave behind on the canal surface.
The Vela Tee is a lightweight, fingering-weight tee worked seamlessly from the top down, starting at the neckline. Its design features an elegant lace-and-cable motif that flows across the front, back, and sleeves, while panels of smooth stockinette stitch along the sides provide a calm, balanced contrast. The lace pattern is fully charted over the raglan increases, creating a flowing, integrated texture.
At the underarms, the body and sleeves are separated and worked individually in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline and finished with a neat ribbed neckband.
Please note that all lace patterns are charted; there are no written instructions.
