Bring the famous velociraptor back to life with this clever and unique fair isle sock pattern! Detailed velociraptor fossils dance along the leg section with both skull and raptor claw motifs. As a former “dinosaur kid” I designed this pattern to showcase my love for this amazing prehistoric animal in a classic and beautiful design for all the other “dinosaur adults” out there!

This pattern is designed to be knit cuff down in the round
using circular needles with the magic loop technique. I
suggest a German Twist Cast-on to produce a tidy and
stretchy ribbed cast-on. The colourwork section is knit using
fair isle (also known as stranded colourwork) and has some
longer floats so good float management is key! If you tend to knit
colourwork tightly, you may wish to use a larger needle size for
that section. In the pattern I use a heel turn technique,
however you may substitute your preferred heel method.
Finally, the toe is completed using Kitchener stitch to
graft the toe together.
