The Velvet Loop Sweater pattern is a modern knit featuring relaxed silhouette, wide sleeves with a beautiful decrease line towards the cuff. There are also two neckline options: a stand-up neckline with a modern gathered effect or a classic crew neck. This sweater lends itself to the relaxed fit and flatters all body shapes, making it a versatile piece for any wardrobe.

 The Velvet Loop Sweater is knitted bottom-up in the round (seamless). If you don’t in the round, the sweater can easily be worked flat in separate pieces with back and forth knitting, and it’s not difficult to adjust it to your preference. Short rows are employed to ensure a perfect fit for the shoulders.

(21.5/ 22.5/ 23.5/ 24.5/ 25.5/ 26.5 inches)
Length:
54/ 56/ 58/ 60/ 62/ 64 cm
(21/ 22/ 23/ 23.5/ 24.5/ 25 inches)

The Velvet Loop Sweater is designed to have approx. 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) larger in circumference than your bust measurement. The fit is slightly oversized.

The Velvet Loop Sweater is knit from the bottom up in the round. Once the work reaches the underarms, it is divided into two parts: the back yoke and the front yoke. The back yoke is worked first, and shoulder shaping is done at the top. The front yoke includes neckline shaping. Both yokes also include armhole decreases.

Next, the front and back yokes are joined along the shoulder seams. This is the only seam in the garment. The sleeves are worked top-down from the armhole. Forst, the sleeve cup is shaped using German short rows for a better fit. Then the sleeve is knit in the round without any decreases, and just before the cuff – worked in 1x1 rib – sharp decreases are made at the center of the sleeve. Finally, the neckline is finished with a 1x1 rib.
