This pattern is inspired by a slouchy beanie that I had seen Vera Wang wear to one of her shows. The slouchiness can be adjusted if you want it more or less slouchy - just knit the body (between the brim and the beginning of the decreases) to a length longer or shorter than the length stated in the pattern. The brim can be made shorter or longer as well.

While I haven’t tried them yet, yarns that should be great with this pattern are Cascade 220 Superwash, Paton’s Classic Wool Superwash DK, and Schachenmayr’s Merino Extrafine 120. Basically anything that’s listed as DK or is a light worsted will work well. You can use worsted too. The hat will just turn out a little denser.
