Vernalia Socks
These socks have a beautiful leaf motif, perfect for those days of late winter and early spring when all you can dream about are the buds and blossoms to come. The pattern is written for the magic loop technique, but you can easily substitute for double-pointed needles of a 9” circular if you prefer. They are knit one at a time from the top down and use a short-row/mitered heel and a standard toe, but you can also substitute for your favorite heel and toe with a bit of manipulation.
For this pattern, you should be comfortable knitting in the round. Some skills you may need for this pattern include the long tail cast on, magic loop, Wrap & Turn, and Kitchener Stitch as well as a familiarity with lace knitting. If you find yourself unfamiliar with any terms or methods in this pattern, I suggest searching for them on YouTube. A glossary of abbreviations is included in the pattern.
